Dr. Jo Ann K. Mackey, Alliance Consultant

Dr. Jo Ann K. Mackey, a nurse educator, has had over forty years of nursing experience that includes an extensive background teaching in associate degree through graduate level nursing programs including RN-BSN programs in the United State and Israel. She has expertise in all aspects of curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation plus a broad background in program management and leadership. She has extensive experience in the development of health related programs, which included a critical course that was developed for the Military Command in the New England region and a nursing management concentration at Cambridge College.

Dr. Mackey offers to any health care or academic setting an extensive background and knowledge in nursing education, articulation agreements, health care education, and nursing practice. She brings expertise in program leadership and management, program development, and evaluation, which include conducting and preparing for state and national program accreditation as well as the Board of Higher Education. Dr. Mackey also provides a rich background in educational research that can enhance faculty teaching methodologies and student learning including the evaluation of programs and courses.

During the last five years Dr. Mackey was a member of the faculty at the University of Massachusetts Lowell where she provided leadership and guidance in course development, curriculum revision, assessment and evaluation of student learning and teaching methods.

Dr. Mackey holds a Doctorate of Education from Nova Southeastern University, Florida, a Masters in Nursing from University of California at Los Angeles, and a Bachelors of Nursing from the University of Bridgeport, CT. She has had over twenty-eight years of military service and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Army. Currently, Dr. Mackey is a full-time faculty member and administrator at Cambridge College and an adjunct faculty member at Salem State College in the Division of Continuing Education.
