Dr. John Niser completed his undergraduate studies in Psychology at Geneva University (Switzerland) and earned his Doctorate in the UK with what is now Anglia Ruskin University. His area of research is in the cognitive and skills development of young adults observed in higher education institutions.


Working as Secretary General of the Swiss Hotel Association Hotel Management School Les Roches in Switzerland and the College du Léman , Dr. Niser directed curriculum development and three successful self studies leading to US regional accreditation with the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). Dr. Niser also opened a successful branch campus in Spain and numerous partnerships in Asia and Eastern Europe that increased the enrollment and scope of the school.


As “Directeur Général” of Glion,  Dr. Niser restructured and consolidated Glion to develop a new mission that is driving the development of this institution to this date. Under his leadership Glion successfully gained membership with NEASC as a degree awarding institution as well as Swiss state accreditation.


Currently, Dr. Niser is Chair (IPFW Fort Wayne) leading the Purdue Hotel Management program. In this position he has developed a new academic program. With the support of the local business community he has raised funds that have allowed construction of new teaching facilities, allowing the program to introduce the Craft Based Learning teaching methodology that is central to the programs business program’s professional focus.


Dr. Niser serves on the Board of Ivy Tech Community college in Fort Wayne and is also member of the Industry Board of ICHRIE and the Director of Industry relations for CHRIE US Central. He is currently engaged in research that explores online distribution and marketing and consulting for Hilton, Holiday Inn and Palm Island resorts.  Dr. Niser serves as Senator on the Purdue University Intercampus Faculty Council, the University Senate, member of two Senate committees and chairing the committee implementing the Red Balloon project initiated with the Chancellor to re-invent the university’s practices, programs and policies.
